A strong response that clearly explores Scrooge's character arc from a miserly man to one seeking redemption. You identify key themes and use relevant quotations to support your points. To push higher, focus on the accuracy of your spelling and the capitalisation of proper nouns.
In "A Christmas Carol", Dickens presents the idea of redemption through Scrooge. Dickens allows the reader to envision a change in attitude through this charactor by highlighting his refusal to change. Soon turned into many actions, this is percieved at the beginning of the novel and this extract. This is when Marley warns Scrooge to listen to him through the quotes "I wear the chains I forged in life" and "Hear me!". The use of punctuation highlights a sence of urgency towards the situation through the exclamation mark. The order "Hear me" tells the reader that Scrooge needs to change and how Dickens uses the figure of his best friend to influnce Scrooge. Furthermore, the ghost of Marley acts as a catalyst for Scrooge's transformation. His appearance is described as terrifying, wrapped in chains that symbolise the consequences of greed and selfishness. Through this encounter, Dickens suggests that it is never too late for reedmption, a message that would have resonated deeply with his Victorian audience who valued charity and moral responsibility.

Yes. School accounts run under a Data Processing Agreement, so uploaded work is stored securely — that's what lets you and your colleagues come back to a student's marked work later and build analytics across assignments. Work stays available while an assessment run is active (runs auto-archive after 90 days by default), and everything is removed within your school's retention window (3 years by default), or straight away if your school leaves GradeOrbit.
By your class roster. When you upload work, we match each piece to the right student by reading the name on the cover page — there is no anonymisation. Names are only ever used to match and label work; the marking AI itself is never given a student name.
Only after a teacher approves it. A marked result stays private to staff until you approve it — nothing is released to a student before then, so you always have the final say.
Students added with an email address get their own GradeOrbit account, where they can view their feedback once you have approved it. They can also ask questions about their own approved feedback and get help understanding how to improve. Students added without an email simply live on your roster with no account.
Marking draws from your school's shared credit pool — 1 credit per student marked. Handwriting transcription is always free.

Because your school stores each pupil's work under our Data Processing Agreement, AI detection can do something a one-off checker can't: it compares a new piece of work against that same pupil's own earlier writing and flags when it has changed markedly. You run it from a pupil's profile — or across a whole class — and only once the pupil already has work on file to compare against. Every result is an indicator to review, a starting point for a conversation, never proof that AI was used. A pupil's writing naturally changes as they learn, so use it alongside your own judgement.
Yes. A scheme of work belongs to your department, not to one teacher — everyone in it works from the same weeks and topics, and can edit them. Lessons are personal: edit one, remove it, or generate a PowerPoint from it, and it becomes your own adaptation. Your colleagues keep the original, and your generated PowerPoints are visible only to you and your school's owners/admins.
