Credits are deducted when you use the AI features. Marking costs 1 credit per student. Transcription and format detection are always free.

You can switch on overage and keep going. Each extra paper costs a flat 20p (30p on a Team plan), added up and billed on the 1st of the month. You set a monthly limit when you turn it on — £10 by default — and marking stops when you reach it, so we never bill you above that limit. Overage is off unless you turn it on.

If the AI fails to process your request due to a technical error, your credits are automatically refunded. You'll see the refund in your credit history with a note explaining what happened.

Credits you buy or are given (your free signup credits, PAYG top-ups) never expire — use them whenever you need them. A subscription plan’s allowance resets each billing cycle, so any unused allowance doesn’t carry over to the next one — but it never touches your banked credits.

Yes — switch tier or billing cycle any time. Choose Switch now to change immediately (you pay the prorated difference and get the new plan’s marks straight away), or at your next renewal (nothing changes or is charged until then, and you can cancel the scheduled switch any time before it happens). Moving to a yearly plan gives you the whole year’s marks the moment you switch.
